ISPF/PDF = Interactive System Productivity Facility / Program Development Facility which runs in TSO (Time-Sharing Option) in IBM's z/OS. ISPF is a dialog manager, which provides formatted panels that are much easier to use than TSO's text-only interface. The PDF component of ISPF provides similar string search/replace, move/copy "primary" (command-line) and "line" (prefix) commands, which can move text around, split and combine lines, make global changes to multiple lines at once, hide and show selected lines, display data in normal or hexadecimal modes, and interact with ISPF, TSO and the operating system. Macros can be written using the REXX or CLIST languages. Commands and macros can be assigned to program function keys for convenience. ISPF provides screen-splitting facilities for the PDF editor. --JLTurriff
